Stirling Moss and navigator Denis Jenkinson won the classic Mille Miglia road race in the 2 seater development of the Mercedes Benz W196 race car, travelling the 1596kms from Brescia to Rome and back to Brescia in just over 10 hours and 7 minutes...with an average speed of 159.65km/h...on public roads in 1955! It remains a Mille Miglia record and one of the greatest race wins of all time.
